Cairns renovation painting never has more of an impact, than on an old Queenslander. We’re lucky up here, because there’s still so many of these stately old homes around the region. Sadly, some of them have fallen into disrepair, either structurally or from an aesthetics perspective. At Niesar Painting, we aren’t builders, but we are the Cairns renovation painting Queenslander specialists. We’re proud to have restored the beauty and charm of many of these properties across the years, cleaning, stripping, priming, painting and protecting their interior and exteriors.
Never was a transformation more complete, than on an old Queenslander that was relocated. Although this single-story property retained many beautiful and traditional architectural features, it had not seen the love of a paintbrush for many years. When our team of Cairns renovation painting Queenslanders arrived on site, the low-set dwelling was raised on stumps, which had been enclosed with a timber frame. While some of the wrap-around verandahs were in place, more were added to completely encompass the building.
Externally and internally, the paint was in bad shape, as per the adjacent ‘before’ photos. So, before we got to work with a new coat, we stripped and cleaned the existing, flaking paint away. It’s interesting, because for some reason, many old Queenslanders present with an array of multi-coloured internal rooms. Anyway, back to the painting renovation.
Once the old paint had been removed and appropriate prepping completed for the new paint, we set to work. For this particular property we choose a classic and elegant colour palette of white and charcoal for the exterior and crisp white throughout for the interior. This not only enhances the sense of space, but really brings the building to life in its green surrounds.
